“Timberline bloom” Wasatch range

This piece is a love letter to the Wasatch Range and those perfect summer days in the mountains. I wanted to capture the contrast of our rugged peaks against the soft, colorful wildflowers that pop up in the meadows every spring.
The mountains are crafted using wood intarsia, where I’ve hand-picked different wood grains to act as the shadows and ridges of the range. Above the peaks, a gold leaf sky mimics that glowing light we get right before sunset. At the base, I’ve tucked real dried flowers into a layer of resin, keeping that bit of nature perfectly preserved so it never fades. It’s a little slice of the Utah outdoors brought inside, celebrating both the strength of the timber and the delicate beauty of the blooms.
